Welcome to Atlantic Ozone's calculators. Using these tools you can easily
determine ozone requirements for several different hypothetical water treatment
scenarios. If you do not find a scenario that approximates your particular
application, please let us know and we will endeavor to add it to this site.
These calculators were derived from our extensive experience with ozone
and water treatment, some of the relationships are fairly involved. It is
quite possible you will get an answer you did not expect, or cannot arrive
at by checking our results yourself. We hope you find these calculations
useful. (By the way, we have included a handy set of conversion calculators
at the bottom of the scenarios).
Please note that several calculators are only available to registered users
of this site. If you would like to use these calculators, please login,
or register if you are not presently a registered user. |

| O3-H2O
Contactor |
The Ozone/Water Contactor Calculator determines the quantity
of ozone necessary, both flow rate and ozone gas phase concentration, to
achieve a user specified volume flow and aqueous phase ozone concentration.
Use this calculator to determine if you can achieve a desired dissolved
ozone concentration, and to estimate the size of the equipment needed for
your application. |
| Efficiency
Calculator |
This calculates the theoretical and actual mass transfer efficiency
of an existing ozone/water contacting device based on user inputs. The user
is then presented with three possible enhancement scenarios to either reduce
operating costs, increase the Effective Ozone Dose, or estimate any plant
expansion potential with existing equipment. This is a very nice tool. |
| Disinfectant
Calculator |
Calculates the quantity of ozone necessary to disinfect water
streams based on the overall water quality of the subject stream. The user
may select from three different NPDES permit scenarios, Non-Discharge scenario,
pre and post treatment industrial process water, or either continuous or
intermittant use in an Ultra-Pure (UP) water system. |
| Storage
Tank Calculator |
Calculates the quantity of ozone required to keep a closed
tank of water biologically inactive and aerated for an indefinite period
of time. This is useful for avoiding tank dumps, thereby conserving water,
or as a last line of defense against malicious or accidental biological
contamination. |
| Swimming
Pools |
Calculates the quantity of ozone necessary to maintain a swimming
pool without resorting to the use of chlorine based on user defined inputs
of pool size, turnover rate, environmental factors, and bather load. |
| Handy
Conversion Factors |
Here are some Handy Conversion Factors to make designing ozone
systems a little easier. Those pesky mass transfer conversion factors can
be a real time waster, so use this tool to cut those calcs down to size.
This will also be useful to double check your work. |
